A few snaps of cards and doxies

My computer recently went belly up. I don’t know what I want to do; get another PC or a laptop. I still super-duper love my Kindle, but blogging on it is hard due to the virtual keyboard. I also don’t have a USB cable that will connect my camera and Kindle directly, so I have to download pictures onto something else first, then transfer them to my Kindle. Right now, that something else is my work PC. Shhhhh – don’t tell anybody!

Back in October, my great-niece Kaya caught the enterovirus D68 and was in the pediatric ICU in Emmanuel Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR for a week. It was pretty scary for the whole family, but she is fine and fabulous now! I made her a card:
There was a matching envelope – which I didn’t take a picture of. Please excuse the poor lighting; I think this picture was taken around 10pm with just an Ott light for lighting! I think it came out pretty cute. They have a small farm, so I thought the designer paper was appropriate.
This last Saturday my niece held a party for her daughter, Hannah, for graduating from high school early. I made her card and envelope:

I’m pretty happy with how they turned out! I’ll be putting them on my “Cards I’ve Made” page with info on the supplies used, etc.

And last, but not least, a picture or two of our Amy that we rescued back at the end of June 2014. She’s a hard one to get a good snap of, and the lighting in our house is horrible. These aren’t the greatest, but you’ll get the general idea. Amy is quite small, only about 6-7lbs. And yes, Mrs. Weenie needs to be renamed Mrs. Jabba-the-Hut-Weenie. I am after Les about overfeeding her (he loves to feed her from the table – big as life, twice as natural – and deny it to your face). I’ve shown him pictures of Obie, the 77lb doxie that lost all that weight, and told him that she is headed in that direction, but it just goes in one ear and out the other. She’s at 20lbs right now (we were shocked when she was weighed at the vet’s the other day that she didn’t weigh more) and Sis and I will keep trying to keep her from gaining any more. Amy looks like she could be Mrs. Weenie's puppy, but Amy is actually a few years older!

Typical - Mrs. Weenie is top dog when it comes to being around Les!

Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

It's a little damp out there...

I was surprised this morning when I had to go back in the house to get my wellies so I could get to my truck. Fortunately, this is not flooding, as such. It's mostly just big splotches of rain that couldn't run off anywhere. The chickens were just "doing it, not digging it", but the geese thought we did it on purpose, just for their sake. They were having a grand time out there this morning!

What time is it???

Ummm...huh? What the...but...everything was so...and then...2015? Really? Where the heck have I been? I'm totally shocked and unprepared.

Formal protest - someone's been dinking with the space/time continuum!

DENIED.

Wow - I am really surprised that I haven't posted since August.

Well, I guess I'm not really surprised. There hasn't been a lot going on except depression, sadness, darkness, a little less sadness, more depression, Rice Krispie treats at work, general drudgery and the flu that is currently kicking my behind. Oh, and we got satellite, so FOOTBALL!!!

I do have some plans for possibly some videos; hopefully will be doing some more crafts; and perhaps finally getting a picture of Amy added to the roll call board. My computer died so I can't upload anything from home, unless I manage to wrestle my sister's laptop away from her.

I did read some more books but never got them posted; I'm going to start a new list for 2015.

Sorry to have been away for so long. I'll get caught up, I promise.
